Can anybody tell me if the later type pre-engaged starter motor (with piggy-backed solenoid) is compatible with the inertia type flywheel? |

Yes I agree with Iain, they do work, but from a mate that tried it, not nicely, and in his case not for very long either!!

The flywheel could have either ring gear fitted, metros especially had verto clutches but had both types of ring gear.
