It's back feeding into the loom. Stick a diode in the line to the light.

Had the same problem what apbelamy said is true the solution to me was to take a wire from the plus side of the coil with a fuse to the alternator. John

do you have the ignition live wired directly to the battery? all the live feeds need to be switched
switched live feed from the dash light
switched live feed from the ignition
the other charges the battery but should be un able to back feed anything aslong as there switched ( i dont even know if it could anyway)

Sort OT but I had this flat battery thing,

I was playing with mine last night, and I found at 1000rpm idling it was not charging when I was 1500rpm it would start charging. Now as every thing in my car is electric this would explain a lot of problems I was having.

I have started posting on Instagram also my name on there is turbomk1golf

Nothing is impossible it just costs more and takes longer.

There is 3 pins one is not needed one is swiched live and is for the light.

Off the top of my head the middle one is the live one.

yopu need to spin these little fuckers hard! max rpm on them is 16k!

diode wise, anything will do just pick somthing with thick leads that you can solder to, an IN5401,IN5402 etc should be a good bet (higher the last no the higher voltage rating the 1 is 50v)
