Right I was wondering if anyone knows how to work out offsets, I canot get my head arround it its quite complicated.

I am looking for different wheels for the r100 pref 13" instead of the 14's I currently have and to try and get the clios wheels flush with the arch as im doing a little make over.

leeds/wakefield.

Right Paul this is a dummys guide to measureing offset,

get one piece of A 4 paper and lay width way

draw a line left to right,

draw a vertical line in middle of page,
call this line the wheel monut face,

now go to your wheel and measure from the wheel monut face to the outer most lip of the wheeland mark this dimension on the right hand side of the paper along the line ,
now measure from the wheel monut face to the inner most lip of the wheel. now mark this dim on the left side of the page along the line,

now measure the total width of the wheel from lip to lip to make sure you have measured the first two parts correct as they shouild be the same,

now devide these dims by 2 giving the wheel centre, draw a vertical line , now you have two vertical liones on the page , the measurement between the two is the offset, if the wheel centre line is on the left you have neg offset , and if on the right you have poss offset

essy way to remember offset is - meens more sticking out ,

and + meens less sticking out

Or just plug the numbers into a web site:

The diagram on here is helpful.

What you need to remember is that the offset is measuredin mm. If you know what 'J' your wheel is (width) you need to convert that to mm. Decide this number by two and you have the centre line of your wheel.

Now put a straight edge across the back of the wheel and measure down to the mounting face.

Let's for argument sake say you worked out your wheel Centre line was at 100mm if you meaured down 100mm from the straight edge your offset is zero. If however you measured down 110mm you have an offset of +10
