Surely it would also be useful to mention a general spec as well, to help differentiate between different size engines

@ last rolling road.

132.4bhp 140ft.lbs @ 13psi of boost with a super rich mixture (operator reckoned I would pick up quite a bit of power just by leaning it off!).

+40 10cc Omega's, Mildly ported head, phase 2 cam, 2wd cossie intercooler.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

137bhp on 14psi. Home built with used pistons,Turbophil head, used MG Metro cam GT1752.

Goes a lot better when I bleed it to 18psi but no idea how much that adds in hp terms.

What power would you say it made on 15psi?

I'm considering my piston/rod combination, and a short height piston coupled with 6 inch rod would leave the compression at 9.5:1 which I reckon would be good for 15psi.

LT cams and gt2056 turbo are already decided on. Though I have an RS exhaust if there would be significant gains.

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

Benross motor is 1380 5 porter hybrid T3 18psi boost nice internals etc.... 234hp
this was done many years ago.

heres one of my friends 1380 5 porter Benross head trick internals gt17 16.5psi
of boost ....... 186.3hp and 190 ft pounds torque.

its realy not the big figures as most of us know its how the car feels and drives, i think around 120 to 130 hp in a mini is just about right anything else is insane and dangerouse!

1310cc gt17 smallish fiesta diesel intercooler.

running no fan on ic ,ic warm to touch .

and 15 degrees timing , id expect 200bhp at 16psi on more timing and cooler ic .

clutch did not slip on rr ,when racing it did...

bhp at 12 psi was 168
bhp at 15 psi was 183
bhp at 16 psi was 188.

also 21 psi netted 248bhp.on a different dyno .

importantly ..i have over 100lbs/ft from 2800 rpm ,as steve says , low end trq is important for driveablilty .look for dyno graphs that go down to 2500rpm to see that sort of detail and understand the felxibilty of the overall design .

It's been on eBay before, I'd be willing to sell for the right price. But I'd also pay a lot of cash to get 230 at 18psi from my 16v twink

Mine was 200 bhp and 203 lb/ft @ 20psi

1293 cc, 11cc 21253's, turbo phil head, GT20, phase 2 cam.

how true that figure is I'm not sure but it did make 190hp at the TM rolling road day on 20psi when it was getting tired.

Can I propose a general rune of thumb here....

Multiply your pis by 10 to get an estimate of power output. So, 15psi should give 150bhp. Large bore 5-ports anyway.

Anymore than this you have a good-un, less and something is wrong.

My 998 has around 180 bananas with 18psi.

Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph
