okay guys,

im a compete noob when it comes to gearboxes, I now currently have 2 of them and the idea is to build one up to go onto my 1275 SPI mini.

one has the the "A/BZ3 BC DAM 5626" in the casting
and the other has "A/BZ4 BC&M DAM 5626"

what is the difference between them? upon inspection to me they seem the same?

thanks guys

Jonny

I dont think they are going to be different enough to concern you,

as they are DAM5626 they are both A+ and all the bits will interchange,

have a look at the pinion bearing retainer, three bolts is good 4 is bad, apart from that nothing really matters.

thanks for the reply Joe,

like I said i was unable to determine much of a difference between the two! but tbh I dont really know what im looking at when it concerns gearboxes but only one way to learn ey!

i want to make a SC box and a friend of mine recommended the http://www.minispares.com/product/Classic/...ack%20to%20shop

not sure if this is a good choice??

yep, good gear kit that, its what most people on here use.

if your ok with a set of spanners a gearbox isnt too hard to do, the only bad bits are stripping/ rebuilding the mainshaft (as theres a silly little fiddlily locking ring) and getting baulk rings that are good... normally best to use 2nd hand ones if they don't look too shagged.
