I have protechs on mine, and 10" wheels and it was lovely normally and plenty stiff enough. Kyb gas ajusts are good too. I don't rate gaz dampers, too many stories of them seizing up, and the guy who serves me in minispares agrees! On 26th Jan, 2012 Tom Fenton said:

I liked the KYB Gas Adjusts when I had them. If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of. |

KYB gas adjusts are very good dampers, i know people who have had issue's with GAZ but i havent, SPAX are good never had any complaints, never used protech's but they are also good, may mate got alloy ones when they were on special offer and loves them |

I liked the KYB Gas Adjusts when I had them. Had them on my old clubman. Even with collapsed cones the ride was good. Gone for protech on the current car as they are light and have a good reputation in here. On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:
i tried putting soap on it , and heating it to brown , then slathered my new lube on it

KYB Adjust a Gas are great for road going minis. I'm a big fan. Cheap and light too. Most aftermarket adjustable shocks are still too stiff in my option, especially on light weight everyday road Minis. I have Protech alloy shocks in my turbo, the front is fine, but the back end is slightly too hard on softest setting. Should be ok on full weight car though. Edited by alaskanow0 on 14th May, 2013. Normal Protecs with rubber cones/hi-lows on the road car and Protec coilovers on the race car. Very happy with both. |

I am a big fan of protech, I have always just give them a call and told them what I have, and they would sort me out with the best shock for the job. I have started posting on Instagram also my name on there is turbomk1golf

My car is 570kg, 194kg at the rear, I've also swap out my red dot cones for new genuine rover ones, but still too firm over speed bumps etc. However I also have a rear anti roll bar fitted, that allows for softer damper settings.
