I think Carl missed a gear on the start, ironic as Carl had been taking the piss out of Wil for missing a gear off the start *wink*

It was a good weekend had a decent walk around for once too! but I will have to moan a bit.... Does anyone agree there were too many post 1991 (their retro cut off date) on display? such as the god aweful chav attraction next to the cross over bridge? like the Merc, BMW's and the loud as fuck Saxo in the afternoon session taking away time from some of the other cars who had payed to be on the hill.
and a few too many people out there purely trying to score scene points (but that one is easier fo turn a blind eye to)
I camped from the Friday night, spent Saturday at Shellsley walsh hill climb which was a good day out.

Still hope to have my mini finished there for next year though!

David.

Yes! I don't want to see an evo or a 55 plate Mercedes with crappy stickers over the roof going up the hill. If I knew these were going up then my retro 53 plate would have been running...

Hello :)

Glad you enjoyed the show, we enjoyed having you guys there, and Wil can REALLY pedal a car up that hill, if we were timing I reckon he'd have been probably the quickest thing up the hill. In the videos we have from the hill you can see just how fast he is compared to everyone else.

Re:Modern cars on the hillclimb. We allow club stands to have a range of cars that represent their club with the understanding that their stand is predominantly pre-91, some clubs chose to ignore this and we'll be working out how to deal with this for next year's show. As hillclimb cars can come from club stands or retro parking we can end up with some of these modern cars on the hill. We may ask people to keep things in the spirit of the event and consider whether they should be taking their car up the hill. We are looking at this issue though.

I thoroughly enjoyed the day. Was good meeting people from here and seeing a nice mix of cars. Managed to get 2 runs in up the hill in between the various crashes from other cars which closed the hill for ages! Still was really good fun though

Further to my previous message. We're also looking at making the afternoon session (which is shorter) a but more resilient to crashes and stoppages. We try to get everyone up the hill at least 3 times a session even with stoppages.

Good god, don't make his head any bigger or he'll need a new helmet.

*happy*

It is a shame about the Shelsley clash because I'd love to get a top level single seater up the hill just so people could see just how fast it can be done.

I also want some representation from some Hillclimb and Sprint associations to try and get more people involved. Hell I also want BARC, SEMSEC etc. to come and get people visiting circuit racing more.

Well next year might be your lucky year. By then we'll have a mini (the red one, but it'll be in a different shell and will work.) Plus we'll have a single seater. It won't be hillclimb champ car, but it'll be fast.
