i dont have many picks since my phone has been stolen a while ago. but there are some. not that much changed. its a cathodic paint and a primer layer so i can start the fine work before spraying colour on there. orderd some tubing for a rolcage yesterdays and going to be looking into saving upp for a turbo engine.

Well... that one is having aprox 2000 or 3000 miles. .. always running on croon oil so i was as surprised as you are. Must say although i payed fot a new one i never seen it installed. So Eighter croon oil is bad or the shop who placed it fucked me over....

It does look worse on pick thoug since you cznt feel the scores. Its like it rubbed.

Edit.. checked the logbook. Its 3970 miles to be exact. Bit more still not allot.

okey so i can have some more work set on the turbo one. i got the tube to make up the rest of the roll cage. but i also have a question. i have been given the advise here to place the engine forward 10 mm to the position of an mpi car. that has been done but that also means the shift link needs to be longer. as it is for now i have the shifter house inside the car but kept both of the rods.

had a hell to fit that one before so now was thinking to remove the steady bar and just keep the one that does the shiftwork. would that be possible? and second up how do you guys get it firm or working 100% correct? now it feels a bit sloppy and not ( how should i say) accurate? when i shift it.

I always thought the holes or slots (whatever you call them) were to let the primer out when the shell is dipped at the factory rather than to allow air flow?

Condensation on the underside of the roof skin runs down the pillars and collects in the sills. I've never seen a shell with paint in the sill cavities.

i kept the wide sils but have cut open the lumps so they can vent. grts.

Some movement... here. Got the block and head skimmed and honed. Bargain price.


I used to mesure the cc in the head and block with a plate with 2 holes in and then filled it with oil... is there an more easy way to do this? Or more accurate diy methode?

Next up. Is getting the rings to mate the bore and once the bearings are in that i ordered i can start building the short block.

so okey the cranck is in. 2 questions rice... 1 i have 6/100th of a mm endfloat ( 0.025in?) that is good right?

second i am in doubt what needs to go to the outside when it comes to the thrustwachers. the bronze sides with grooves right?

The bronze side outwards on the thrust washers.

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.
VEMS + 12 PSI + Liquid Intercooler = Small Bore FUN!

finally i got the mock up done. engine build up gearbox fully reconditioned head.... well still needs to be done next week or so. but couldnt help myself had to put the mock up exhaust and turbo on. not the pretty-est or the best set up ever i know. but done by me myself and i.

okey. so the mock-up isnt making me that joyfull. like this now it is pretty close to the wing top, so i would like to make it lower to the clutch house. thing is... it will be closer to the clutch pump then. but most off all... now the oil dump slopes slight down. once lowered it woul have to go flat or even slight up. and to the front around the starter instead of over it.

advise pleace. dutch saab forum i read things about no problem to that because of the thermosifon but this forum holds the specialists that can be trusted. my idea was okey as long as the oilpump is running. but once shut down there will be oil in the housing that would stay there till the next spin.

also what are the toughts about them chinese cassets? i hear they are near as good as the originals only halve the price.

Looks like the turbo is very far away from the clutch housing. The ones I've seen are usually alot closer to the engine.

it is. i started this mock up planning to re use the brake servo ( that one is gone now) but it still has the clutch slave to go on ( not in pic) but how close can i get. ( ill look if i have a slave left somewhere for a better pic)

I had a look at wintersurferuk his buildtread. As it looks we have made almost identical setup. But his sits indeed much lower. I will look for some pics when it was in the car.

So i got ibto it a bit while the litle one was asleep.

Still have to cut of the flange and straight that one back out but as for now... i got it lowered 40 milimeters then put it to the front about about 20 milimeters and 25 milimeters closer to the engine. Gets another 25 closer once the flange is cut and rewelded. Looks allot better. Just hope the pipe man can build a copy of it with all those bends. Downpipe will come between the upper and lower exhaust pipe.

Hope this helps with clearence issue i had.

a no. i have a flipfront. i inted it as a vtech first but the engine i bought was dropped hard by the delivery firm and although i got some of my money back after a long long time i already started this build with what i have. must say like this it would almost fit within the inner wings ( very bad angle of pic as i see now. )

so i made my final moke up before starting real tube bending. ( almost at least)

this would possibly fit into a standard round nose.
few things... need to be sorted. oildump... where to. the downpipe gets a 90 degree bend to the right hand side and up to the gearbox. then a 15 degree bend down. ill put the afr censor in the 90 degree bend. would that go okey?

ill ask in tech chat maybe.
