Hi guys and girls

Just saying hi. I've been on the site for a while but never introduced myself. My name is clive I'm 34 and have loved minis as long as I can remember. I owned my first mini at 17 and regreted selling it. I will tell you about my cars and what I have now hope I don't bore you all lol.

In 2009 my dad and I desided I would buy a mini and we would do the London to Brighton run together. So I found a car for £400 with tax and mot in January. Unfortunitly a few weeks later my dad suddenly past away so the original idea of covering the car in stickers to make it look better wasn't going to be good enough so I desided to restore it and do the run in his memory and raise money for charity. I then did the run for a couple more years but the car was in need of a proper restoration,

I desided to buy another mini and build the car I had always talked to my dad about and this is my current project which I'm hoping to have ready for next years l2b run. It's been 1.5 years now in the making. I would like to say I've done it all myself but that would be a lie. I sent the body off to the real mini company in Oxford and had if restored and painted while i rebuilt the subframes and collected parts. I've now got to the point of the engine which will be a 1330 blow threw supercharged unit. So I will be asking lots of questions as I've never done an engine build before and it looks difficult.

And finally I also have a 1959 pre launch mini which is waiting restoration I will load up a few pics of the cars now and look forward to meeting you all at shows.

Clive

Hello

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.
