Intermittent starting on an 05 mini cooper. Thought the starter was duff so changed that but still the same. Lights come on the dash with ignition but wont start, no clicking, sign of life from the starter or anything. After a few attempts it work, Any ideas?

thanks

Check the switched voltage to the starter?

Swapped relays over and check the fuses.

The small wire to the solenoid has 12v... until its attached to the solenoid then drops to 0.06v when touched to solenoid. When the wire looses power the bottom corner of the fuse box clicks like a relay

Car unlocks with the fob. Will bump start and also start when the solenoid is bridged.

Sounds like that clicking could be a loose connection in the fuse box, what are you measuring the voltage with? Digital multimeters don't apply any load so don't show up bad connections, loose earths etc.

Digital Multimeter. I'll have to wiggle the wires in the fusebox and see if anything happens
