In video 4 at about 1 minute in, they say on high performance large bore engines to put a length of fuse wire between the bores to help stop head gasket failure

The fuse wire thing is a bit like the old Wills rings they used to use on Cosworths, however on Minis its difficult due to siamese bores.

I spoted that they did the rocker clerances by moving the feeler gauge in and out on the roller rockers. Side-to-side is the more correct way. Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph

are they taking about O-Rining the block, where i work we used stainless panio wire for this it was for high boosted turbo engines, we would bore down into the deck, tap the wire in and the fame ring on the gasket would sit on this, once you clamped that head down its makes a leak proof seal, alot of head gaskets have the wire already in between the layers of the gasket, so no need to do this anymore, siamease bores are hard to do but its not recommened by many people. everybody likes free stuff |

I tried it 20 years ago...didnt make a button of difference. I usually only got about 5k out of a head gasket, always blew between 2-3. Would have lasted longer if the car didnt get so much abuse....but when your 18-19 and have a nippy car...you do silly things. I spent half the day looking Cossies etc to kill lol 9.85 @ 145mph
