Hello all, I've just split a 1330cc a series, it looks like it has cooper s rods with the ridge halfway up the beam. Looking at the big end caps, presumably they've been lightened but the area between the nut lands is different on each one. I haven't weighed them yet, but is this a common sight? Cheers, Mat

Those dont look like cooper s rods. Maybe innocenti rods if as you say they have the ridge on the beam.

There are some who have found a similarly ' miss matched' set of rods from a certain tunner but if they all weigh the same end to end it just becomes a neatness thing

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Yep, innocento or 1300GT rods have the ridge half way up the beam,

they will be 1.75" same as the non S rods but better steel. a good rod.

There is a rod with that ridge on the beam that has the large big end so don't just automatically accept that they are the 'cooper s' big end.

Judging by the shape of the sides of the big ends, thise are the bigger journal rods with the narrower bolts

Ah, I see. I didn't know any others had that ridge! I was more concerned about the different end caps but judging by what you have said I'm happy now, thanks! :)
