I've been rebuilding a turbo engine 4 the last few months and I usually take pics of everything so I know where it came from but I'm stuck with a loose hose from the turbo. Where the actuator hose goes into the forced air side of the turbo there's about another 2 foot of hose which carries off from this and is just dangling. Does this usually go to the air filter box? If so can I just get rid ad block the hole as I'm using a pipercross cone and binning the old filter box? Any help appreciated |

Hose you describe goes to the Metro ECU / or a bleed valve to increase boost. You can block it off.

You will want a bleed if you've still got the standard Metty actuator and you want any half decent level of boost. You don't have to pay out for "Turbo" on the packing. Any small adjustable valve will do, try a pneumatic suppliers for an "exhaust valve".

Pedant's addenda: the original connection was to the solenoid (bleed) valve, the ECU connected to the plenum, same as the fuel pressure regulator. thin ice lol On 26th Oct, 2004 TurboDave16v said:
Is it A-Series only? I think it should be... So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'... On 26th Oct, 2004 Tom Fenton said:

Yep he's right , it went to the electronic boost control solinoid which was controled by the ecu. It kept the boost low at mid range rpm so it didn't lunch the gearbox .. |
