im sure there has allready bin a post bout this some where, but who is goin on the friday all thru to sunday, and wot time r u arriving?

It will be my first time at avon (im a raceway virgin!), n dnt really wonna end up camping on my own!

will i be allowed to camp in ur area as im a new cumer?

Im going on friday night through till sunday, you've got to make the most of the big shows.

Im gonna try my best to get mine ready to take up the strip, i had a play with a cossie on the way home from retro cars...had some interesting results that i wasn't expecting!!

sunday is the racing, saturday is the practice..

no idea yet, i managed to keep with it up until about 90ish (with passenger and luggage) and then the dreaded pinkin returned and had to back off!

I thought i'd sorted it-obviously not!

just done tappets and ive spun it over a few times for them to settle

while spinning it over (no fuel or ignition) ive noticed i have no oil pressure at all, i should has some even when cranking should i not?

yeah but if its all gone dry it will take ages!

Disconnect the big oil pipe from the oil filter head to the block and pour oil down both holes... reconnect everything and try again. Its an old trick to prime the pump.

Take the spark plugs out too,spins over quicker to get oil round

i always prime the oil pump down the pressure relief valve hole while turning the engine over by hand. does take a good minute for pressure to build up though.

ive now got oil pressure .... cheers alex!

had a few probs firing car up, would not even hint at firing, checked out the spark and there was none, got meter out and metered the coil and found that no voltage was present when cranking so re-terminated this so it was, but still would not fire even though i now had a good spark found that playing with the leads it almost fired turns out i had leads 1+4 on part of the coil that leads 2+3 were supposed to be on, so it fires up but runs like a bag of spuds, checked tappets again and found one thats tight loosened it off changed the plugs and it fired up fine

i seem to have a high pitched sqeek coming from where the cam chain is??? i did change the seal on the cover a couple of months back so may not be seated properly

i now need to cobble together a intercooler, i think i will copy mark and whack it where the bonnet should be, hope you dont mind mark, fit the cage back in fit passenger seat fit radiator fit heater and new hoses and get it to a RR

might even have time to refit engine to the golf as by friday as well lol

And hopefully find someone stupid enough to look after oscar for the weekend

Ok, engine in, just need to attach all the strings....

as i reach for the polish. then i'll spend an hour or too deciding on the w/end menu and wine list.

reseated the down pipe,
remade a split fuel line
re-filled the dash pot (why do they always empty on me?!)
stick the wondows back in (and added blots!)
cleaned it!

So I'm all ready
