I apologise for having to start one of those "it wont start" threads but I'm afraid it won't start. So I have Megajolt V3 which was on the car and running before the stripdown, I have communication with the labtop and have a base map flashed to the ECU. I have spark when I pull out a plug and check and I have fuel to the carb (about 3-4 PSI with the ignition on). I have a brand new battery and some fresh fuel in the tank. It cranks OK with good oil pressure but will cough through the carb every so often and wont start.

I have played with the timing as that's what seems to be the issue however adding/subtracting timing makes no difference at all. I have checked the plug leads and they are correct but I have also swapped them just in case but no go. When I plug in the laptop and crank I notice the MAP gauge moves a little and the ignition advance as you'd expect but the RPM gauge doesn't move. Is this an issue?

I did install a hard cut rev limiter in the ECU which is the only difference ignition wise on the car from before. I have removed that now and reverted the ECU back to the way it was but still no go. I was thinking of getting a new coil pack, VR sensor and even a new ECU in case I have damaged it with the hard cut install however I am getting spark so feel this isn't the issue. Surely if any of these components were dud I'd get no spark at all?

Sooo... What to do next? Any ideas? I may and try and dig out my dizzy and plug it in but other than that I'm out of ideas. *frown*

Crank sensor isn't working if you don't get RPM. Make sure it's not connected and isn't covered in poop.

circa 200rpm is typical for most engines on the key. Mini's may be faster, either way you should get a reading.

If not, it's a crank sensor or wiring issue.

9.85 @ 145mph
202mph standing mile
speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will
