Hi everyone, I'm looking for some technical info ? I have just newly re built my turbo engine and put it back in the mini, I got it running after pissing around with the timing eventually. But now as soon as you connect the turbo to the carb it will choke as soon as you rev it and stall. I'm a little perplexed ???? Is it a timing issue ???? It runs fine with out the turbo pipes connected and rev's up, reconnect them and it does the same chokes and stalls.

Help please !!!

Turbo seized? Pipe work blocked?

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

I have the same problem only on boost if I disconnect the turbo outlet pipe it runs ok I'm sure its to do with the carburettor ballance pipe but it won't run correctly when its connected. Regards tomostrash

Did you rebuild the carb? If it's set up wrong the air going in under pressure could be massively leaning out to the point of fuel starvation. Does it idle with the turbo connected to the plenum?

mine was the plenum gasket as it was missing the hole to the carb

Photos will be a great help here.

This is not an uncommon problem. My guess is that the carb is connected up incorrectly. But I'm only guessing without seeing.
