stowmaket suffolk

what a cracking show, plenty of fast and unusal cars, my favorite other than the jet car was a renault fuago turbo (red and yellow) which was quiet as a mouse and went like a rocket i think he got a 113 terminal speed.

any the hog had its first ever trip down the strip and after towing 8 ton of tools in the boot i got i think not a bad time in consideration. 134 bhp at flywheel, 2.9 diff, clubman gearset on 13's

run 1 was just a taster to see how the car felt, had problems with terible wheel spin so enede up with the following, 1.6 reaction, 1/8 11.5 secs at 69.66 mph 1/4 at 17.2 sec 86.86 mph terminal.

run 2 was also a bit of disaster as this time there was to much grib and i dumped the clutch to quick bogging the engine down but once boost got upto 10 psi she realey started to shift.

2.1 reaction 1/8 10.9 secs at 70.22 mph 1/4 in 16.522 87.52 mph.

i reacon with a pukka start i may hit 90mph which would be brill.

but stil she realey isnt designed for the strip or the track more for cruising at speed on the dually.

ps i think its was either flanigans or jimster in the yellow peril which had goos times as well as the red mini that did fly.

but i think mat woods must take the day with a 13.8 sec and a 109 terminal.

always looking for them bigger bunches of bannanas

Miniwilliams with a 13.8, that's impressive, was that using nos?

Good one Hogster, I reckon your car shoud run 15s with that sort of power, will you be having another go at Avon?

Alex, was that 16s in the soparkly one?

I'm interested to know what Jim ran. I'm assuming it was Jim rater than Jon in the 'yellow peril'

I thought matt got a 13.65! even way bloody good result for him, very quick car.

My clutch could not handle my torque. I didn't get one full run when everything went right, either intercooler pipes came of, clutch slip, or I could not find 3rd gear. But thats enough excuses. I just need to fix it for Avon

it was my first ever time up the strip, and my best time was 19.022..

the clutch seemed to be slipping and this showed on the 2nd and 3rd runs even more!

nice to meet everyone who i met, sorry about those who i didnt get to meet.
