Hi guys. Ok, I'm wondering the best way to go about the brake set up.
I don't want a servo, as the engine bay is pretty tight for space as you know, and I have legs like tree trunks so I don't mind having to give the peddle a bit of a push.
My current set up is/was a twin line master cylinder - rear line straight down the car to a bias adjuster just before the rear bench, then out into the rear stubby.
The front goes out the cylinder, straight down to the brass union on the left hand side of the subby as you look at.
Now the master cylinder needs replacing, but I can't decide what is best for the car. If I keep it as is, I might as well buy a single line master and fit a T-piece a couple of inches out of it. But basically, is there a better/more preferred way of doing the brakes?
It's for a vented set of 8.4s with normal Ferodo pads if that makes a difference.

Thanks all.
Alex

Sounds like you have a very common setup to me. I would not be putting a single circuit on, the dual system is safer and doesn't take any more space.

If you want an improvement then something like a KAD bias pedal box is the way to go, but I don't think it offers much improvement in performance over standard master cylinders.

Thanks Ben. When you say safer, why? I thought it was still a shared master cylinder and reservoir? So in the case of a cylinder failing etc, all the brakes would lose pressure? Perhaps I read that wrong??

I guess I'm trying to get to the bottom of the 'best' way of doing it. Should I use a twin line master with the fronts on one line, and the rears off the other (as it is now), or should I perhaps find one of the 'mixer' units to sit on the bulkhead as per original spec?

I don't want to move away from A series stuff just yet, I'll get the car on the road first and see how it performs.
So any suggestions/advice?
Cheers all.

12s presently. Will be going bigger after the first sort of 6 months if it really matters.
