Hi I have a little problem its an easy fix I just wondered why I was on a trip home from bnq my last time driving the mini for the day and give it a little rip and a couple of quick corners just to remind me how fun a mini is .So .. there is a sharp u turn on the way home and I take it fast as there was a bini that I wanted to show what a real mini does .. the half way round I he a little bang and a loud noise at first I thought it was the suspension collapsed and the front right was rubbing on the arch I pull over and see that my exhaust has popped off the back box so I was wondering could this be due to cornering forces?? Some expert will no . Thanks jordan :)

The exhaust was freshly fitted by very good garage two days ago and was good and tight

It fell off cos it wasnt fitted properly

An exhaust does not just fall off from going round a corner fast. It obviously wasnt secure.

How do you think race cars (Historics, Miglia, Sevens) corner at speeds far exceeding what you were doing without them falling off?

I seriously doubt it!

it might be due to something else moving? Subframe? Engine? Touch wood i've never had one drop off, but i'm now on the later type mountings

mine fell off due to being lazy when re fitting it i left a clamp lose and due to messing around the engine rocks back and forth as you get on and off the gas making it work lose as a quick fix i put a 4mm stanless rivet in it to pin it in till i got around to adding a hanger and flex joint

Only time I have had an exhaust fall off was a speed bump and it was more ripped off than anything on my old mini, right at the lcb y peice joint, it was mega loud and it flashed every so often on the over run lol. Got to love bad fueling

I remember that Paul... The police asked why you were parked where you were. After your reply of "my exhaust has just fallen off". He grunted and drove off haha
