Just stripped my engine down so it can be re bored. I'm looking at going 1330 after I stripped it I notice quite a few big scores in the bores and was wondering if they are to big and that a re bore wont be enough to get rid of them. Sorry for the bad pics and my lack of knowledge.

looks ok, I'd expect next rebore size should sort that no problems, unless its linered

what is it at the moment? std?

next rebore size is +20 thou (1293) so the marks would need to be 10 thou deep or there abouts to prevent that.... which is pretty deep! approx 1/4 of a mm

One of the bores the score is quite deep compared to the others possibly .5mm. My pistons for it are 1330 omega 18cc dished

well 1330 is +60 so 1.5mm out of each side so you wont have any worries there.

the only thing that might be an issue is if the block was linered at the factory ( fairly unusual), in which case you wont be able to take it out to more than +20 (iirc)

have a look at the bottom of the bores, you should be able to see if it has liners.

Don't think it's been lingered so hopefully be ok. Just need to find someone to do it for me now. Once again thanks for the help and I'm sure I will have plenty more questions.

Don't apologise for lack of knowledge, we all have to start somewhere. Asking for a second opinion on that is very worthwhile.

Use the search when you have a question, there's lots of info on here. *smiley*
