Something tells me the set up wouldn't work very well, I was also considering a LSD but IIRC you can't get hold of a 2.7 cw&p for it. Is there anyone running this kind of set up or similar, how do you find it?

Why would you want to run such a tall FD with a dog box?

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

Why run a Dogbox with 2.76. 1st gear will be more like 2nd. I've ran both 2.76 & a dogbox. But both together No!

instinct told me it wouldn't work but basicly I wanted a dog box for when my car will become a second car but the tall diff complements the engine, my last one just lit up the tyres but this seems better.

sounds like you need better tyres then or better throttle control
picking your fd based on grip is ludicrous

2.7 is really good, once your rolling and provided your cars not to heavy and the right turbo

I bet my first wank came quicker than your first mini turbo

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

I had a 3.44 diff in the last one with about 120bhp and I felt like if it was a 3.1 it would have been more usable. I know what you're saying. I've always personally ran the tallest diff I can get away with without effecting the acceleration too much. The engine goes very well with the 2.7.

The car is for general fun on the roads, plus the occasional track day/ 1/4 mile, ring trips.

I really like the 2.7, even with a relatively heavy car from standstill :)
