Hi all now the welding is done on the car i am looking for something ho cover te inside floor. I got rid of all that hard stuf inside but cannot live with the vieuw of the welding seems. Question is what could i cover it with. Do i look for the same black stuf that was on there? Or are there ready made teardrop flootplates to put on the front? Or dynamath...
you can do anything if you set your mind to it...

You could use dynamat or equivalent. Flashing tape is a good cheap alternative too. On 26th Jan, 2012 Tom Fenton said:

Looked at dynamat but indeed bit heavy. I tought about aluminium teardrop plate to make it myself but then again... it wil be as heavy as dynamat.

You can get different thicknesses of dynamat but as you say Brett only really good for SPL level sound installs

You could make some anchor points for the mats as per most modern cars to stop them moving around. On 26th Jan, 2012 Tom Fenton said:

But than i can't remove them anymore to let the moisture out. I think the oldschool option will be the way to go. Find something nice and tidy to do the complete floor and what is left of the back seat. That or epoxy coating. (Keeps sticking in my mind to because it can be painted) Edited by Rammie2000 on 15th Jun, 2013. you can do anything if you set your mind to it...

Actually I've just thought, if you buy the right mat, it won't move anyway, mine fits around the steering column so it can't slide forwards. I'll try and get a picture later. On 26th Jan, 2012 Tom Fenton said:

Have one like that in paulintje (my 42 year old mini) but it still has the strange rivets to hold it down (never checked if it would stay in place without it) dont want to heavy mats though (paulintje s carpets are like they are made out of lead thinck its the original carpet) you can do anything if you set your mind to it...

How about black press studs in the corners? It will allow you to take them out to clean then, and gives you chance to check if its dry etc. www.apsbikes.co.uk
