Hi all,
the title says it all basically :) I can get hold of a BMW ECU, loom and other associated stuff for about 80 quid. Has anyone tried running their 1275 16V twinky conversion with this setup (search yielded nothing)? If yes how do you like it?
My pick up is coming back from the sandblaster's next Wednesday, ready to be built up, so things start itching again *wink*

cheers,

Well if im not mistaken the standard bmw engine revs alot higher and most surely will require a different ignition and fueling setup deeming it fairly unsuitable, I have a k100 head ecu and injectors and I wouldn't even consider using it, if you want a reliable and safe setup for the car with good drive ability get a stand alone ecu like megasquirt, emerald, omex ect

Drives
-Ford S-max Mk2 Ecoboost
-Rover 100 VVC #2 - track project

Searching is all you need on TurboMinis

Its been done, so yes, it is possible, but I think it was a chipped ECU though. That was the K1200RS though.

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be...
So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Im sure Ive seen a vid of madmat running a twinky on the ground with no exhaust, at one point he points out that its running on the original beemer ecu. it was a long time ago though.

you'll be able to get it to run, but it'll not be optimum.
