Another of those annoying problems. On a run in town,ie light load, low rpm,I get a sudden momentary loss of ignition/loss of tacho feed.Running megajolt, swopped out all the usual suspect components.Doesn't happen under real power but still not good. Why would an apparent electrical problem be load sensitive?Any thoughts, comments, jokes welcome.

Hmmm usualy the load sensitive misfires or breaking down of the coil packs would start to fail a higher loads
Have you checked the crank sensor for dirt?
I had an issue on my mini but rpm dependant, turned out to be a vibrating belt tapping the crank sensor maybe something has worked loose?

Yes i moved to the darkside *happy*

I had a very similar problem some while ago - your comment of the loss of tacho feed alerted me, rather than the ignition cutting out.

Mine turned out to be the loose fit of the plug into the EDIS - the retaining clip was long gone, of course.

Happened on the way to a hillclimb when it first occurred - doom and gloom for about 15 mins !

The only suggestion I have is to run it at full chat at all times. No low load use, so no misfire.

The fan belt is a bit loose, now tightened. There doesn't seem to be a loose power feed, but the EDIS plug is a bit wobbly.Fitted a spare one which is a bit tighter, but will probably finish up swapping the connector.GRRR,only 11 wires then......
Will try it again tomorrow first.

Seems OK now,and I think your loose belt idea may be the problem Brett. Before tightening the belt could hit the sensor holder and being on the slack side of the belt run might vibrate. There were some bits of black material on the sensor holder.
So thanks again guys, another lesson learned!
