hi chaps ,

I have just got around to replacing the paltry 75/90 lb spring on the back of the spud , with 150 pound 9 inchers .

if I adjust the ride height as I would like it ,the springs are loose and jangly when the arm drops .does anyone fit a strap to limit the drop on the arm ,and so keep the spring tight ?

thanks
robert

Loose springs are an MOT failure.

Cornering hard and pot holes could unsettle it. I'd NEVER drive such car. Fit helper springs.

Well when my car went in for MOT nothing was said as the car was sat on the ground, albeit with cones and hi-los, when you jack up the car it all becomes loose. Never had a problem with it becoming unseated and theres a shitload of speedbumps where I Live.

If your too worried ask your loca M.O.T place. If he says it's a fail just make some straps from old seats belts but I can't see a problem unless the springs will definitely unseat if you literally launch yourself off a speed hump and if u do that you'll probably lose the entire front end on landing so the rear will be the least of your worries

Vegard is right, helper springs are the way to properly sort it out.

Fuck what the MOT states, don't be stupid. Sort it out.

Mine was like that and the way I cured mine was to fit short reach shockers, if your shockers are standard hight, then it will do the same for your car. Alan
