Just about to purchase an in car boost controller. Seen some on sleebay for like 6-10 quid. Are they all the same? Is it worth me spening double that on a well known branded item? Also, can i mount it next to my seat in the car? Or does it become less effective the further away it is from the turbo?

You wont get a boost controller for 10quid, a bleedvalve maybe

Not really, no.

And yes, if it requires a long hose to allow you to adjust in the cabin, it will affect it's operation.

speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will

You can make them fairly cheaply mate, However for the price of them they're easy enough to buy, yes.

Never had any issues, seems to hold pressure, doesn't spike through the range, I was happy with it anyway! But hey, I was on a stock T3 setup and found it ok hahah.
