Should finaly start working on my block next week. I'm starting with a early 1275gt block in stage two form. Lightened, balanced and nitrocarbonised crank, rebored to 1293,lightened and balanced conrods, lightend and balanced flywheel.
So basicly most of the works been done what i wanted to know is will i gain anything from polishing the inside of the block?
What does polishing the rods acheive? And Is it better to lower the comprssion by changing the piston or enlargeing the chambers? I would prefer to lower the comp by fitting big cc pistons as i'm undecided on the cylinder head to go for. As the one i have is unsuitable i'm considering the 7port head thats in devolpment at minisprt.
Could i use a set of bike carbs to turbo though? as there nice and compact.
And one last question is it worth getting steel caps for the centre and end ?

#### Nothing - apart from wrist cramp using the die-grinder...*wink* ####

#### Removing potential stress-raisers that could lead to a failure. You don't need to go overboard - in fact do you even need to bother in an engine that rarely sees 6500+rpm? ####

And Is it better to lower the comprssion by changing the piston or enlargeing the chambers? I would prefer to lower the comp by fitting big cc pistons as i'm undecided on the cylinder head to go for.
### You answered your own question then####

#### If going to the expense of a se7en-port, running anyything other than full injection is - to put it simply - a waste of money in even buying the se7en porter... ####

And one last question is it worth getting steel caps for the centre and end ?
####It's worth it if you feel that you will have a problem from the standard caps and that you have sufficient funds. You alone have to decide on the merits...####
