Ni minis I,m afraid, except one BMW Mini, but a great day out in the sunshine.

Was there with friends who race a very special A35, capable of totally humiliating, among others , a TVR Griffith.Very entertaining from the passenger seat. I was able to resist all entreaties to put my car on the circuit, where it would undoubtedly have a very slow embarassment to all.

I also had 6 laps in a Noble supercar which, while very quick and has enormous reserves of grip for both cornering and braking, felt less dramatic than the A35, which in any case was actually faster round some corners - difference in driver ability/balls I guess

Steve, it has a Puma engine on throttle bodies, fixed cam timing, decent exhaust and about 160hp.The track has been widened front and rear by 9" !! Straight cut type 9, Ford atlas axle with 5 links.
Sierra Cosworth brakes and wheels.

Its not so much the power as the way it corners - like a go kart on steroids.

It helps if the driver is as experienced as the owner(s) !

A35 was flat through Fordwater at about 115, whereas the Noble was nervous and lifted off , keeping corner speed below 100 for most of the session, although he did manage 120 on one lap.
A35 was much quicker through Lavant and the approach to the chicane .

Should mention too that we had dinner at The Cricketers, just south of Petworth where we also met Alastair Caldwell, team manager for McLaren in the 70,s.

Google him and you may be surprised - he drove an A35 to finish in the Pan Americana, in South America.

Enough already, this is not mini related

Think I saw that A35 driving past on my way to work. Thought it looked wide!

The Viper must have been running in or something because we almost lapped him. The 968 was a little quicker !

Its a four door with the back doors bolted in, owned since 1969 by a Ford development engineer, now retired, with a great deal of input from his son. They also race a Sierra Cosworth. Cant do a build thread cos I wasn,t there !

Originally built as a rally car (!) using the usual MG Midget bits and raced with a 948, highly tuned.

More recently gained the Ford bits mentioned above and then, last season, the widening of the track, which has transformed it from a monster cornering on two wheels to the present giant killer.

that really needs doing to yours david , then a nice simple 220 bhp a series and you would blow its doors off (apart from the back ones since they are bolted in)

Medusa + injection = too much torque for the dyno ..https://youtu.be/qg5o0_tJxYM

Whilst I love the way it goes and grips, I think it looks grotesque and the owner knows that.

Its a case of function over form.

I prefer the sleeper look that I have and am not going to cut the external panels.

IF I was ever to flare arches it would be from the swage line on the front and rear wings and much more integrated with the original style. This has been done by a friend of mine, but in a much more modest way. Trying to accommodate a 9" increase in track was never going to be easy.
