Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem. |

Not what I wanted to hear really but I did ask lol! they are already in a built up engine I am afraid that is going into my metro turbo which is pretty standard. I might stick the ecu back on if anyones got one and all the bits to see if they can last a bit longer! I really don't want to go down the route of having it rebuilt at this stage. Iran standard metro non turbo pistons in my old motor. At 10 psi. Had it properly tuned though. Didnt seem to be any problems with it. So might be ok for low boost aplications. But as steve says omegas for peace of mind.... |

all the power the engine will ever make is above and on those pistons, seen it many times it always ends in tears by using chocolate pistons NOT up to the job.............. so get saving steve.

yes that's fair comment Benross and when southam build my other engine it was no expense spared but to be honest this is no performance machine its a bog standard mg metro turbo that's going to be driven sensibly. The engine has already done 17;000 miles apparently so its probably already f-cked especially as I bought it off ebay lol! I really need to just get the engine back in and running though as its in my garage instead of my mk1. Thanks for the advice though and I have taken on board what you are saying so may think about building up the spare engine for a swap over at a later date.
