Hello everybody,

As I said in my presentation my mini turbo doesn’t want to start.

My carburetor is new, I have a 123 ignition with new spark plugs but nothing. I have a pretty spark on my spark plugs when I test it and my mixture seems good.

I don’t understand where my problem is.

Perhaps my Pressure regulator is badly ajusted ???

Can someone help me ?

Thank's,
Jim

What's your fuelling set up?

Take the dashpot off, push the choke arm down, and release it, if you see fuel there that should be okay in theory. It is very possible the ignition timing is miles out?
Get someone to turn the distributor very slowly one way or the other whilst you turn it over. And of course check where number 1 is inside the dizzy at tdc and the leads are the correct order of 1-3-4-2 starting at 2 o clock position and going round anticlockwise. And that number one is the water pump end of the engine. Sorry if any of this sounds patronizing, just making sure *tongue*
It's also worth finding out the base carb settings so you know it's somewhere near startable. (normally the jet level with the bridge inside the carb) Also check the engine isn't flooded, whip the plugs out, heat them up with a blowlamp or something to burn anything off and leave the bores to breathe through the plug holes for a while.

Just had a quick read up on your ignition set-up and will make some assumptions about the build and timing being ok. That said, you may want to look at the coil if it's not new or of poor strength it may not have the ability to produce a spark under compression. Sparking in ambient air is easy, sparking under compression is like trying to spark in soup.

Do you have a spark and fuel?
Is your 123 the type that you need to load a curve into before you start?

I seriously doubt it!

Hi Paul Wiginton,

You are certainly right, I have a 123 tunes, and I don't know what is the better curve.I put the ingition without change it. Now I try to star with the basic curve.

I thing my curve is not adapted! but even if the curve is not adapted the engine must be to start. no?

thank's again

Do you have any easy start? If so get someone to spay a little into your carb while you crank if it fires you have a fuelling problem if it does not you have a possible ignition problem.

Hi everybody,

I don't know why, I don't know how, but my car has start yesterday.
I cannot explain why that did not start, either why it starts today.
I did my first tests in the road but I need of some regulations.
Thank's for your helps and advices
