Hi guys,
first,
I have a lot of though for all britans today, you are really nice peoples and I am in pein with you.You have all my sympathy.

I finished a megajolt edis ignition emulator,
in searching for edis parts on the net I found that some here are already using this nice box, I have some difficultys to find a trigger wheel, do the uk guys have more luck with that, all the fords I've found with the edis system have a flywheel trigger, not the easiest to use *wink*.
If anyone is in the megajolt side I would be please.
cheers

We just use a map, no throttle pot.

this is a picture of an early sensor install we did. It works fine, but it's a bit of a bodge really.

Somewhere around Swindon

one thing that worries me about the megajolt ect is that no RR seem to know anything about it

I ahve bought a inboard dyno , it allow you to tune your ign yourself , basically, it mesure your revs and compare them with gear, scx mass of the car, tires etc , it seem to be precise, but the best is that even if the exact hp can be more or less than readed one, it's calibrated for your car then if you are reproducing the acceleration having done a change and then go on the same road to do the test, it'll exactly told you if bhps are losted or winned.
for the ignition timing, I retard it and advance it several times, and I compare the power curves.

Nice link Dave.

Quite right though, Mike only ever sees the Squirt stuff when we turn up. He very quickly learnt how the system worked and we just left him to do it after a few goes.

We can also tune it ourselves in the car. The installation below lets you see what part of the map you are in as you drive along. It's possible to change while driving (but safer if you stop).

The system fab has sounds fab, I just had to go by ear and how the car felt, didn't do a bad job mind.

it's called powerdyn, it's program which hear the noise of your ignition, and tehn compare it with time weigh , scx gears wheel, it's really the best dyno, I know,
the best: it's price : 35 euros that's 22£ :)
link: http://jcdperformance.free.fr/
clink on this link and then you have an english redirection at the upper right side it's signaled under construction but it does work

I see you;re using a palm Wil_h - what model is that or does it matter? also has anyone tried using a hacked Xbox running linux to control the megajolt/squirt?

Its a Palm Vx, but most palms work.

I'd ask the guys on the msefi forum about an Xbox.

Hi

How many people actually use the MegaJolt system and is it easy to install. What is the pcb like to put together, and what MAP sensor do people use??

It looks like it works out quite cheap to build, but how much does it really cost to get up and running?

Thanks very much.

Hi
I am using megasquirt just to keep my options open for FI in the future. It cost around £250 all in (inc EDIS etc) built and works a treat I am going to build one soon just to make myself feel clever ( if it works ) probably around £145 all in if you build it yourself.
The install is very easy but building a megajolt or megasquirt I am not to sure about yet.

Do any of you know of someone selling built/tested MegaSquirts in the UK?

And I spotted a second hand megasquirt ut the description says it does fuelling only, not timing. I was under the impression the squirt did both?

The squirt can do both, but some changes need to be made, nothing major.

There are people out there selling kits and ready made units. I can't vouch for any of them, but I am sure they offer a fine service.

here is where to find them:
