If you know 'older' Fords, you'll know what I mean in the following...

I know they 'used' to use a siffening bar between the block that bolted up the bottom of the gearbox bell-housing (I don't recall it being there on my last sierra mind ???)

Anyway - if anyone has such a ford with such a stiffening bar, can they take a picture of said item and mail it to me: Dave@sheepspeed.co.uk

Anyone able to confirm (AlexF maybe??) if they still used this 'stiffener' for as long as they were running with the traditional engine bolt pattern?

we jsut stripped a sierra, and it didnt have anything like you describe.

Are you talking about a bar that joined bellhousing to block? if so could habe been used if the car used a weak alloy bellhousing(the one we removed was cast iron!) or had the engien mounts mounted far forward.
