Just taken my block to the local engineering firm and the follow has been said... my main cap shells have moved with the crank as the engine was run either low or without any. the holes are now off egg shaped, think 010" difference... now anyone had this issue and what can i do to resolve?

Someone has suggested skim bottom of block and main caps and redrill for the shells? this an option?

Cheers

Dave

King Gaycharger, butt plug dealer, Sheldon Cooper and a BAC but generally a niceish fella if you dont mind a northerner

Rotherham, South Yorkshire

That's the right way. Basically they are taking c. 0.010" of the mating faces of the block and caps and then honing the resultant hole back out to the right size.

As an added bonus, your engine will be lighter! *happy*
