I had to cut my linkage. About an inch off the threads on one end as my engine must have been leaning slightly not allowing the full movement on the rod. Once cut it worked fine. Try pulling the selector from the back of the gearbox first and seeing the max and min lengths you need to achieve. |

The engine site slightly more forward in injection subframes. Do you which type you have? |

It's a subframe from an 1984 mini. ?? |

put the gearbox in a gear, . then put the stick in that gear position, join rods together, try gears,

Problem solved. It turned to be the service plate under the remote was put on the wrong way around resulting in the lever not moving into gear. Getting the selector adjusted was still a pain in the bum but at least I can select all the gears now!
