Gents

I have achieved a milestone today and got the turbo engine fired up!
I let it run for a while as I checked my gauges etc and after switching the engine off (and fuel pump)
I could hear a gurgling/ glugging from the carb, there i could smell fuelvapour and on inspection of the plugs they were very wet with fuel

I'm thinking it is possibly the float valve bypassing the fuel??

Anyone had anything similar??

Cheers. David

I take it tue carb is an old metro one that has been sitting around for a while? Had simular problems when i first got my turbo on the road. The carb float was not moving freely and needed freeing up.

Seems to have worked fine ever since. Take the dashpot off and give it a good clean. If this doesnt work you could try playing with the idle enrichment screw.

Had to do this when i went to 1380 turbo, got it so that it ran. The local rolling road operator got it sorted within a few minutes

I have the carb a while yes, I will strip it down and have a peek next week.

Maybe a stupid question but should the fuel pressure hold at 4psi when shut off or does it normally go down the fuel return?
Mine is not holding any pressure when the pump is shut off.
