First mini turbo to get in the 12's & site perv

Herefordshire

a slight problem emerged after pod, where by there was a clicking noise as i pushed the car along.

I think this happened after an attempt at a crappy burn out where the wheels suddenly gripped

ive just been checking it over now and the wheel bearings seem ok, nothing noticable with the cvs, but when i put it in gear i noticed a rattling sound.

On closer inspection i can wobble the pot joints (both) backward and forward.

Presumably theyre not supposed to be like this

anyone have any suggestions as to what it could be? im hoping the diff wasnt preloaded correctly and only new bearing will be needed

minispares 4pin diff, pot joints, std drive shafts

thanks

Pot joint 'wobble' is most likely to be the pots or the OP flange bushings... All they do is 'drive' on the diff OP shafts. They are 'located' on the bushings.

clicking - you need to dig deeper here... I'd advise you to bring a spare gasket set and maybe engine stand along with you to Avon!

Sounds like Pod has been a 'killer' of cars this year!

hmmmmmmmmmmmm clicking seems to have disapeered

had the car apart today and i think i may have been a little paranoid about the wobble in the pot joints, comparing them to a spare engine there doesnt seem to be any extra wobble in them

ive checked over the inner cv's and they seem ok, i will put it back together and see how things go then

i just did the CV boots on my car and so the driveshafts were out and i have a little bit of wobble on my pot joints, they also leak a bit of oil, i dont know whether its because its lowered so much that lets them be a bit loose with the driveshafts in place
