Hi I'm new to engine building and was looking for some advice from people on which parts I should be buying. I was going to go 1330 supercharged but I'm toying with going turbo now :)

parts I have so far our as follows

Cylinder head is an unleaded 12g940, with 26cc chambers, 33mm inlets (with 30° back cut), 29mm exhausts, bronze guides, 180lb double springs, ported and polished. I can vouch for the head as all the work was done by me. The guide bosses have been completely removed & the ports reshaped.

Block and crank is as follows

1275 block rebored to 1293 (never even had a piston in it)
drilled for 11 stud, has centre main cap too

Hardened, x drilled wedged and polished crank, new bearings

Gearbox is standard at the moment but i plan on going straight cut with centre oil pick up. I do already have a x pin diff.

I have a non turbo carb that I was planning on rebuilding with a turbo kit. Also a 276 Kent cam.

I'm going to stick with 1293 now as I've managed to lose my 1330 omega pistons somehow.

So my question is will what I have so far work together? And what other parts should I look out for.

The parts I think I need to look out for are

1.5 roller rockers
Lightened flywheel
Not sure on which clutch I should go for
Mirage or similar manifold if I go turbo
Not sure which turbo is best for my engine but plan on doing lots more searching to find out.
Also not sure which pistons to use and what dish. ( my other pistons were 18cc but would make very low compression)
I'm sure there is plenty I have forgotten so please feel free to advise me or just tell me to go away as I haven't got a clue lol I no I have a lot to learn.

Wouldnt go for 1.5 rockers
Just get a phase 2 cam or similar

Then some omega 10cc jobbys should be perfect!

Turbo is up to you, go for t2 if you want delivery to be similar to a supercharger as they are smaller
And come on boost earlier

Or you could go t3 and have it kick you in the head at 3500rpm lol

Go on, be brave, put it in the car and tell us how it works.
Pity your bollocks are in line with the flywheel!

i'd ditch the idea of using 1.5 rockers, most people use the standard ones. As for piston dish it depends what compression ration you want to run, or how much boost.

Thanks for the advice I will stick with standard rockers then.

The car will be a weekend toy so doesn't have to be tame so a bit of power would be nice the car is stripped out with a cage and 2 seats :)

normally people go for forged or cast. A lot of people use the cast 10cc omegas (thats what il be running). Some people like Nick have stuck 20+ psi through standard pistons.
