Anybody got any clever ideas for fitting one to a fibreglass clubman bonnet that doesn't involve a leather strap or anything that will cause it to need painting again?

couple of karabina's with a short length of rope/string/wire between them, just long enough for you to be able to pop the bonnet and get your hand inside to unclip one of them? Edited by Nick on 27th Jul, 2013. On 20th Oct, 2015 Tom Fenton said:

That might work, could put a loop into the box bit that the catch screws onto. On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

It's definitely worth doing, I had the bonnet pop open on my Honda the other day on the Autobahn. Luckily the latch caught it but I've never clenched so hard in all my life. On 20th Oct, 2015 Tom Fenton said:

Bond one one with epoxy gleu. Drill holes trough the metal foot for more contact. you can do anything if you set your mind to it...

I reckon I'm going to make the mount from fibreglass and use the standard one.
