Mini 1380 turbo,

starts fine when cold, and when warm if you start it back up within a few minutes, but if you leave the car for approximatly 20mins, it takes about 30 secs of cranking to start, very reluctant.

when i checked the plugs they were the correct colour,

I was thinking I might need a cooler plug.......

Anyone had this before ?

Specs
Metro T Dizzy
metro T Carb

Many Thanks

As above; heat soak.

It helps to fit a heat shield (I am told).
Have a look at this thread:

With carbs they all do that, hold your foot on full throttle while cranking can help.

I may be wrong, but I remember something about making the jet holder solid instead of bi-metallic? Maybe someone can back me up on this?

Read the same myself some where on this forum, also read it does not help either. Maybe someone else can shed some light on this subject. I get the same thing happening to my mini. Alan.

making the jet holder solid will only really help with keeping a stable mixture.

the hot start thing is just something you have to live with, it's the easy way to spot a turbo'd mini.

Mine only takes a few seconds longer to start just a bit embarrassing when your with a group of mini owners that don't know about turbo minis, but I can live with it. lol.
