The crank part number is for a1275 "A" plus block MG Metro, Metro turbo and Vandamplah (not sure on the last spelling). Should have bigger main journals I'm not sure if this is the surface hardened item. The pistons are again for the 1275 block at +20 you won't find an oe ring set for these.

Would need a picture of the cam shaft to identify it. There is a link to a guide on cam id on here use the search function.

6581 is the very sturdy proper turbo crank.

I have two that have both seen abuse but look new (no regrinds).

In the 13's at last!.. Just

Not at all Baz. 6232 is more than adequate.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

Lots of turbo lumps had the 6232, but the 6581 seems to be hardened in some way.

If I am correct there are two cranks for the"A" plus block the two numbers quoted above have the bigger main bearing journals fitted as standard in the models I listed above so be careful when saying it is a standard 1275 crank. This is the reason I build my engines using the blocks from the above models.

I thought the mains were all identical in size. It was just the big ends which differed.

I have a pic of the cam in the engine from underneath but it might be difficult to id it? Send me your email and i'll get the pic to you.
I also have a standard 1275 block which has the leyland sign cast in the block which I believe may be the original turbo block out of the metro, unfortunately I have not got the caps with it so assume it may be scrap? cheers Steve

Ah yes you could be right there. I remember reading all the component spec on all the various engines and that caught my attention. Sorry if I got that one wrong.
