I'm letting the oil of from my oldest mini and the second I let it flow 3 large (3on 5 mm ) chunks of metal looks like aluminium to be true. Fall aut of the gearbox. .. car always ran okey. Oil started running slow the second after that so gave it little poke now runs well. you can do anything if you set your mind to it...

Just found a 4th peace about 1 cm long 5mm thick and 1 cm wide. . Picks yes but cant load picks up with phone you can do anything if you set your mind to it...

Seems that the magnetic trap came loose to but no problem with that i have a magnecor between the oil filter and oilfilter housing
you can do anything if you set your mind to it...

Thats strange it runs and drives normal. Had to leave for france in few days and its last day i had to spend quality time with the mini. Sister picks come soon you can do anything if you set your mind to it...

The round tube in the last pick is the magnet that came of the oil plug. Sorry if that gave some confusion. The rest i just checked over and is aluminium for sure. you can do anything if you set your mind to it...

That much metal you really need to pull the box. I think your looking at part of the bearing housing behind the pinion gear or part of the speedo drive housing. Own the day

Yes was afraid to get that advise. Its an old metro engine. Speedo never worked because its seemed that the gear pin was not in place... never looked to fiks it (no time working 14 hours a day) ... hmmm going to take the risk to go to france with it and start building a new gearbox once home. (Or just take one of an other engine that i have. If i have one that fits... ) you can do anything if you set your mind to it...

Well i made the whole run with the gearbox and also know what broke off now.. it seams that someone one's upon a time... had the wrong bolts in the drive shaft housings (to long) braking trough the aluminium lumps inside. Now i striped the box of but was thinking will im ad it to put on twin carbs.... (zenith strombergs dc 125s on a alexander inlet) few questions though.... would a 1275 head make a big difference ? Or would it be overkill with the twin carbs? ?
