hi all
on stripping engine taken out of a early mk1 metro turbo about 7 years ago :$
i trying to find out if pistons are suitable for future use, crowns are heavly dished ish
TRW-175-9335-T
J90 0.03
in middle of crown
+.03 71.34
round lip edge of piston
cylinder head was stamped with a T has the larger sodium exhaust valves
not yet stripped fully to check crank
block is not sleeved
eny help ideas on size over bore ,turbo suitability ?
would be much appreciated :) so i can then maybe get build tread started

looks to be +30thou over bore 71.34 is about a +30 overbore in mm
the T and sodium valves are a good turbo head indicator aswell

thanks for that, guess its been over bored then, not to much ?
does the TRW mean eny thing to you ?
make ?
will split block gear box ,remove rods pistons get better idea !
do you know how i can tell if gen turbo crank ?

Trw - no idea probably too old for me lol
the crank will have a CAMXXXX part number cast on to it
CAM6232 - normal 1275 crank
CAM6581 - the harder (early) turbo crank
although the 6232s were fitted to the turbo engines aswell, i suppose the hardened ones were deemed unnecessary shortly after going into production

I had a +30 engine
its 1301

TRW is the brand, yankee if i remember correctly
they do forged & cast pistons for big v8's mainly

get a picture of inside the piston so we can tell if its been cast or forged
by the marks
