Hi folks,

Is anyone running big power through a 4 sync remote box? (22G1128 casing i think). By big power I mean about 150 BHP.

If so is there anything to be concerned with? ie can the different layshaft & bearings cause a problem? (I think thats the only real difference between them and an A+ rod box).

I'm not concerned with the gears and diff as these will be s/c or uprated.

Reason is the engine is going in a Mk1 (plus I prefer that gearchange anyway)

Thanks

The internals of a rod A box and the remote A box are EXACTLY the same apart from the reverse gear..
Don't worry at all.. A ones are better than A+...

Excelent!

I remember that there was a difference between A+ & Pre A+ layshaft bearings but i was thinking the A+ ones were better.

thanks Vegard,

They're bigger, but those in the know say that the only reason for being bigger is to cope with the inferior material quality.

Also, the A+ layshaft has got only two bearings whereas the A ones have got three...
