I'm trying to identify a bit of an issue I experienced on Sunday. It seems after a run up the strip, it's very difficult to get it into 1st or second on the way back up the return road. Buy the time I'd got to the end of the return road, I could then select the gears.

Not sure if this was because of the amount of time it took to get to the end of the road or if it was the reduced speed.

Any ideas?

I'm going to bleed the clutch as a first idea.

Master cylinder to slave cylinder hose routed close to turbo elbow or thereabouts.

This is what I'm thinking. I'll change the fluid too.

You'll never sort it unless you start thinking outside the box.

Definitely, if it is old and has absorbed moisture, the heat soak from the run could cause vapour bubbles which go as it cools down.

Also I'd suggest using dot 4 rather than dot 3, not usually necessary for the clutch but it has a higher boiling temperature (with or without water absorption).

I think it had dot 4 in at the moment Rod. It's been in there around 2-3 years.

Paul's side mount did something similar at the Pod where the hose to the slave was close to the manifold.

Cheers guys

change the fluid and sleeve the hoses in heat shield stuff.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

Ok. Hose is miles away from any heat.

Changed the fluid. Clutch felt great for about 3 presses, then back to how it felt before.

Looks like I'll be changing the master cylinder. Joy.

Yes the master cylinder is GOOSED, fit a new one and throw the other over the hedge,

please don't try to re rubber it, it never works out for long
