front coilover upper brackets which way round and anyone any experiance with brace bars?

Hi all need more advice, about to fit my front coilover set and not sure which way round the bracket at the top goes as its offset, also independant of direction they will stll foul my brace bars. What have others done to get round this.

Cant line them up with top arm on subframe as not installed yet

fit them so the bracket on the car body it biased forward of the mount bolts.

and fit the brackets to the top arms so that it leans backwards

if i mount them forward they hit the brace bars, may have to mill them out on the back to get them around it. what has everyone else done as regards there brace bars

Protech brackets, will just get the lenghth from outer to bolt holes for you


Dotted lines are 20mm tl the outside of the bolt hole, these miss the brace bars on my friends mini whennhe test fit my coilovers.

Carl, thanks for that. Which photo is right also what do you suggest as regards the last photo as it binds either way but massively one way

Can anyone help oj which picture is right. Also when the bolts are in they are tiny compared to the holes. Do people drill them out and go up a size or not. Also there are 6 bolt holes have people drilled out and installed the extra 2.

which way round would you say from the photos

Hi there

Use all 6 holes by drilling 2 extra ones. 1/4 unf will be fine to hold them in shear.

I had to move my brace bars in order to fit the coil over brackets. I use the Protec kit so unable to comment on yours and which way round they should be. The protec ones are equally spaced.
