Hi everyone I am new to the forum so hello everyone.
I am looking to build a turbo motor I have experience in building engines but I am sum what stuck on the choice of pistons I should use, which turbo t3? I have done some searching and heard a certain Saab turbo it's quite good think it may have been a gt17. Also which camshaft I would ideally like around 130-140hp. I and currently have a 3.44 diff which may be too low in a turbo car? I've done some searching and unsure whether people are saying ok to use standard metro turbo pistons.. I don't really want to get in the £££ of omegas.
Thanks in advance
Dan

The standard Turbo pistons will be fine for 130-140hp, the NA MG Metro cam will be spot on for your output to.

Phil am I best using the t3 turbo over the Saab gt17? And would I benefit from a higher final drive than my 3.44 thanks Dan

The GT17 is far more efficient than the prehistoric old T3, it will be nicer to drive & have the potential for a little more power if needed. You can get away with a higher FD on Turbo motor as they have plenty of torque to pull it & dont have a narrow powerband that highly tuned NA motors have, so high revs arn't required.

I'd say for bolt on simplicity fit a t3 and then think about gt17 after when you get used to it, that's sorta what i'm doing. If you don't mind some fabrication straight away then fit the gt1752 :)

I think bk450 gasket is good i may be wrong for turbo.. I have currently have my na on ecu controlled ign I may add a throttle body and injectors over the hif44 I'm undecided
