As the topic reads. I was just woundering what would break first when using a stock 1098cc with 295 head engine at about @10psi? Using megasquirt with injectors, kkk03 turbo, and edis spark.

What is the weaknesses in this engine?
What parts must be replaced?
Have read a lot at this forum but the answers are different :(

Clutch will be the first thing.

Then diff

Then piston rings

The head will be fine. Its only Modified NA heads that are prone to cracking between the valve seats as they usually have huge valves fitted.

It depends on many factors. In my opinion...

If there's something that is already worn to fuck in your stock engine. That will go first.

If your fueling or ignition timing is out, the pistons will go first.

If you start revving it faster a big end or main bearing will go.

If everything else holds up, and you drive like a hooligan, the diff will go.

In the 13's at last!.. Just

ive found if you treat it like shit it WILL screw up! i know..
like the other say if its in good shape it stands a chance but if its been round the clock Manny times you have no chance
i also agree that a bad tune will kill any engine no matter how strong/bullet prof it is!

imo melt a piston, blow the diff or gear set or drops, burn up the std clutch and if you rev the snot out of it your likely to crack the crank like i did

I think standard pistons are pretty weak but there are couple of different types. and as stated any weakness will show itself quicker. and also don't try revving the nuts out of it 1098'are not the strongest cranks
