After finding out today I need new pistons and block I was wondering if these are any good for a supercharged blow through set up? And if anyone on here is using them?

I'd say "go for something else".

There have had a fair few failures of the ring lands on moderate boost turbo setups.

In the 13's at last!.. Just

No. No they are not.
They even say this themselves, without any sugar coating at all.

"Sold as a single piston and although for Turbos is from original Rover casting and tooling to run on 5psi turbo boost. They use our mega ringset C-AJJ3379-40

If using more boost you need to be working on a lower CR with a total cylinder volume of 55cc in piston/block/head gasket and cylinder head.

Also when inreasing Boost pressures it is essential to have a modified ignition advance/retard curve to prevent detonation and ensure the Inlet charge temperature does not exceed 40 degrees C by the fittment of a suitable Intercooler.

If our advise is not followed it is very likley you will break the ring lands on your new pistons.

As mentioned - cast omegas are pretty much the best option, and are nigh on indestructable.

Think I will go for the omegas there about £310 unless someone knows a way I can get them cheaper :)

I'm going to work on my turbophil head now as it was deamed the only part I had that was usable out of the parts I had to build my engine. Even though its never been put on a car since being built by Phil, the previous owner never stored it properly :(

Looks like he kept it in his fish tank for safe keeping. No wonder the valves were sealing so well

Yes it's pretty annoying when you spend all those hours on it & somebody lets it go like that.

When cleaning it up yesterday you can really appreciate the time and effort that goes into building a head like this. It looks a lot better now though :)
