Hi all, I have a mate who's wipers are knackered they have been botched together, he wanted to start with a new setup, motor, wheel boxes and the tube stuff in between.
He has a mk2 shell currently with a mk1 wiper stuff, can you put the later motor, and wheel boxes on? I guess it will mean the wipe the screen in the direction of the modern minis rather hand the mk1/2 direction?.

So can you just swap everything ove, oh he only has single speed at the mo due to the cars age.

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

I have seen mk1s and mk2s with later wiper motors, not sure if the wheel boxes are spaced differently along the scuttle though?

IIRC the round body motor started being used during Mk2 production. The introduction of 4 holes in the scuttle included the use of the 32 tooth wheelboxes whereas the earlier cars used the 22 tooth type.
The park direction can be changed by fitting the wheelboxes the other way up.
So, whether or not the Mk1 wiper gear can be used in the Mk2 shell depends mainly on the scuttle type (2 holes or 4).
