Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

these are my settings but each to there own..

1.25 neg front camber caster set to 5.5 deg which is just about right and helps torque steer and vastley improves the handling

i did run the caster at 9 deg at one time but
found this a tad too ..! demanding

the rear i have set to 0 camber standard and left it at that!

it handles FANTASTIC! and is a pleasure to drive

benross, when you had the castor set to 9degrees did it actually help the handling, despite being a handful? (i expect heavier steering?)

hi carl

set at 9 degrees it helped torque steer some what

at the expence of the wheel been hardis ish.. to turn going into the corners

coming out of the bends it was not to my liking as there was a little too.. much self straightning

i have found 5 deg is about right

i personally would not go over this

but sure give it a go

GOOD LUCK!

Front camber -2deg, rear -0.75deg rear tow in, just a micron above dead ahead, 14mm anti roll bar (rear), about 1/2 the factory front tow out (can't remember offhand), 7deg castor.

Longman used to run positive camber rear to de-grip the back, pretty much the same as a rear anti roll bar. Recently, I've been thinking about running harder compound rear tyres to let the back drift a weeny bit. Currently on 032's. Might put 008's on the back. My setup was based around this, I bought the rear roll bar to enable me to run it lower than normal without binding the arches up, this had the effect of making the car understeer less, had a tendency on crap tyres to slide, was running quite a bit of rear tow in, noticed how important 3 wheel steer was with RAB and got it pretty much dead ahead, when you chuck it into a corner, it doesn't snap (too much tow out) or weave (too much tow in), the rear sticky tyres and -ve camber keep it from sliding and it's great. I cannot speak highly enough of rear ARB's, they made the thing corner properly. What I did with the shocks was weighed the front axle and the rear and set the shocks dead hard and the back at the same ratio backed off. I can't remember my figures but I used the same thing for rear camber. I reckon it's a good starting point.

Bugger off, I'm getting there.

First mini turbo to get in the 12's & site perv

Herefordshire

i checked my settings last week-
front +0.5deg positive camber, no toe in running dead straight

rear -2.5neg camber a bit of toe out, uneven spax settings

perhaps that was the cause of my crap handling around the twisty bits at the back

im running 29psi front and 26psi rear on my tyres

Staffordshire or Northamptonshire

Suspension settings for dragging or for road use. These would be quite different.

Have managed to get the tracking and Camber set up myself but am not too sure about tackling the castor angle. Any hints on how to go about this??*tired*

are you using the mintec gauge? if so.....

there are angled lines on the one side of the board (60deg), sit this so the edge is parallel to the wheel and turn the steering so that the wheel is is parallel to one of these lines

measure the castor the same way as you would the camber, but use the numbers in the middle of the gauge.

Then turn the wheels so that they are parallel to the other diagonal line and measure again.

Add the 2 values again and then you have your castor

To increase the castor angle shorten the ties, to decrease lengthen

Actualy did the camber with a homemade gauge using a pendulum and a calibrated scale. Was hoping to make up something for the castor angle but will have to have a think about it. Thanks anyway.
